Krystiana Conomos

Krystiana was admitted as a lawyer in 2004.  Since then, Krystiana has gained experience in a range of legal practices, having worked both in-house and private practice.

Krystiana has worked on a range of matters including general debt recovery, commercial litigation, enforcement of mortgages and charging clauses and insolvency, conveyancing, .

Krystiana provides advice to clients on the most cost effective means of recovering debts, enforcing mortgages and other types of security and conducting litigation and mediations.  Krystiana regularly gives seminars and presentations both internally and to clients, addressing changes and developments in the law, such as the personal properties securities reforms.

Krystiana has been involved with managing various types of litigation, including appearing as an advocate and instructing solicitor in the Federal Court, Supreme Court, District Court, Local Court and Consumer, Trader and Tenancy Tribunal.

Examples of Krystiana’s experience includes:

Representing clients who have been subpoenaed to give evidence at the Independent Commission Against Corruption.

Involved in disputes with liquidators, receivers and managers and administrators with respect to retention of title claims, successfully securing the return of the goods or payment of the amount outstanding.

Successfully obtaining injunctions and opposing applications for injunctions in the Supreme Court, including obtaining orders for possession of equipment for leasing companies.

Successfully defending preference claim proceedings brought by liquidators against clients.

Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the PPSA to enable Krystiana to provide advice, assistance and support.

Successfully extending the operation of caveats in Supreme Court proceedings once Lapsing Notices have been issued.
